ITINERARY

Days 1 - 4    |  Torres del Paine National Park, Chile

Met on arrival in Punta Arenas for the scenic drive to your fully inclusive lodge, explora Patagonia, located in the heart of Torres del Paine National Park.

Each day you can choose from a variety of different explorations. On foot or by horseback, gentle or more physically demanding, there is a wide selection of options available to explore this spectacular region of striking granite spires, glacial blue lakes and diverse wildlife. At the end of your days adventures your hotel is waiting. Relax in one of the open air jazzuzis with views of Lago Pehoe and the Macizo del Paine peaks or in the bar, with some spectacular Chilean wine for company .

Day 5   |  Crossing to Argentina

Today's drive, across the border into Argentina, is one of South America's most spectacular passing from the craggy peaks of Torres del Paine to the characteristic plains of the Patagonian prairie. The adventure continues passing lakes and rivers until we find find ourselves in front of the ice floes of Lake Viedma. At dusk we arrive El Chaltén, a small town located in Los Glaciares National Park amidst  the dramatic Fitz Roy ranges.

Days 6- 9   |  El Chaltén / Mt Fitz Roy

3 days to explore El Chaltén and its stunning environs, a walkers and photographers paradise. Time enough to get to know the geology, the flora and  fauna of the area. During our daily explorations on foot we cross the ranges of Fitz Roy and Torre, formed 12 million years ago; we traverse mature beech forests and valleys reminiscent of the Argentine prairie; and we skirt glaciers, rivers, waterfalls and lakes. From the numerous viewpoints of the Park we can observe Condors and Eagles in flight, as well as appreciate panoramic views of El Chaltén and the mountain massifs. In the evening we eat in characteristic local restaurants enjoying their wines, meats, and local flavors.

Accommodation and food

4 nights are spent  at explora Patagonia located in the heart of the Torres del Paine National Park. The lodge has 49 rooms along with stunning views of the Paine Massif and Salto Chico waterfall. Tastefully furnished suites and standard rooms all have wonderful views.  

4 nights are spent at a local inn (or Posada) in El Chalten on the Argentina side of the border.                                  
Meals of high quality are served throughout.  Enjoy local foods and flavours and of course the delightful wines of both countries.
