Santiago and the Central Valley
The Central Valley stretches over 400km southwards from Santiago. The coast is dotted with rightfully popular beaches and to the east the Andes offer some of the best skiing in the country: a stroll on the beach in the morning and throwing snowballs in the afternoon is a real possibility.
And if that all feels a little too energetic, remember the country in between is laced with Chile’s best vineyards. Ah, now that’s better.
And then there’s Santiago. Aesthetically inspiring, the city’s architectural tapestry weaves old with new, crumbling baroque mansions with lofty skyscrapers. And inside some of those buildings are the real gems of the capital: the city’s restaurants.
