Like wine? You’ll love Mendoza. Widely considered Argentina’s Napa Valley, Mendoza is the largest winemaking region in Latin America, home to over 900 wineries and a whole lot of fun. Bordered to the west by the snowcapped Andes, the region is made up of several sub-regions proffering everything from sparkling and Chardonnay to Sangiovese, Syrah and Malbec.
Mendoza has flourished in recent years, attracting not only hundreds of millions of dollars in investment, but also world-class architects to design new tasting rooms, a swelling group of thirsty tourists and, as a coup for the area, the winemaker of Krug Champagne, who recently joined the fold at Terrazas de los Andes.
